This Week's "Realm of Bizarre News" Top 7! (No.165)

-Poetic justice in action? Scumbag repeatedly smashed his galpal into the front window of a London shop. On the 3rd slam, they both went through the glass, with a shard piercing his neck, causing him to bleed to death! Fortunately, the woman survived.

-The classic TV series "Dragnet" starring Jack Webb as Sgt.Joe Friday is being honored on a new postage stamp. An intriguing factoid: Contrary to popular belief, Friday never said, "Just the facts ma'am," in any episode! Rather, his actual utterance was, "All we want are the facts, ma'am."

(Trivia Q: How many criminals did Joe Friday shoot to death during the long run of the series? A.0 B.1 C.2 D.3. E.4 Answer below)

-Clever mouse somehow worked his way inside an ATM at a gas station in La Grande,Oregon, and built himself a nest out of $20 bills: Two were thoroughly chewed up while another 14 were seriously damaged! The little rodent was unceremoniously evicted and the money replaced.

-Couple in Saukville, Wisconsin, have embellished their garden with 6 antique outhouses. The 1st was purchased at an auction 20 years ago for $5. As far as we can determine, theirs is the only garden so adorned!

-New study involving 3,000 women conducted by TheBabyWebsite.com found that females spend a mind-boggling 12,000 hours (equivalent to 1 year,4 months) of their lives crying! As infants, they wail for 3 hours daily. In the childhood period, they cry about 2 hours a day. As teens, they shed tears an average of 2 hours, 13 minutes a week(such as due to hormonal changes and arguing with pals). Thereafter, they taper off to 2 hours,14 minutes per week: In the 19-25 age range, relationships and films are principal tear-inducers, while beyond 25, arguments, break-ups and bad news are the primary weep-motivators.

-In Arodes, Cyprus, both locals and tourists are grinding away stone from the tomb of Saint Agaptikos (whose name translates as "lover") to prepare love potions. Rumors claim that the dust is very effective, which could lead to the ultimate destruction of the saint's resting place. For the record, Agaptikos served in the German army of the Crusaders before retiring to the area to live as a hermit.

-While it is a well-known historical fact that Adolf Hitler publicly snubbed gold medalist Jesse Owens at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, veteran German sports reporter Siegfried Mischner,83, claims that he did actually shake hands with Owens behind the honor stand. Indeed, Owens carried around a photo of that prideful moment, but could never convince anyone to report the truth because it might enhance the hated Fuhrer's image.

(Trivia answer: C.2 Joe Friday shot and killed 2 criminals, one in a hotel room and another in a laundromat.)

I can present these and other intriguing reports(which can be fleshed out in more detail if needed) for you in a dynamic new 1-5 minute feature (or even 30-second microfeaturette) that can run daily, tri-weekly, or weekly on any of your existing productions, or stand unto itself as a separate 30-minute weekly entity!
